Thanks for the quick reply so we can expect to see some updates in several months? That is my plan. Few important changes are that we would like to go with is maximum dx9 compatibility instead of focusing on dx11 features this time, because we found many shader and gpu issues badly handled from unity side for dx11 and in most cases using old school dx9 was stable solution, also it translates better to mac an linux. Ah btw, we have tested Honey(our game which uses honey) on linux and Mac and it works flawlessly (small UI glitches excluded ). We have released even free copy of our game for linux, which is at the moment a bit out of date but if someone want to see honey running on this platform you can check it out for free : onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21AGxe3W4ByFCzWfs&cid=D09AAF078EFDC73D&id=D09AAF078EFDC73D%212983&parId=root&action=defaultclickIts available on steam if someone is interested to try whole package: store.steampowered.com/app/378720/Game stays on steam with 91% positive with over half thousand voices so its nice, but we had some complains and we decided to try to improve if with next honey. First we should try to prepare it for streaming terrain so that not everything have to be ready at once shortening loading times, I would like to have dynamic changes on the hexes (eg grass->snow) without rebuild, but I'm not sure how it would work yet ;P. Also I want to have proper normals on the mesh allowing us to use full lightning advantages.

I keep getting tasks outside Honey, and as far as I can still say that we are going to need Honey 2 for next title I cannot frame just yet when I will be allocated time to do that :/

Keep up the good work! I was curious because you mentioned releasing your newer fog of war system. Any chance that could be added to the WIP in the current package? The original fog of war is pretty slow.

as soon as I'm on Honey again I should focus purely on Honey2 so that it can be released asap as its possibel that my development window would be short so I dont want to distract supporting old Honey variations. I can see upcomming light between workmasses which I hope to invest in just that

My team needs Honey 2 if we are going to use your framework. Honey 1 is not feature rich enough for us, but everything we ready about Honey 2 sounds great. When will you be releasing Honey 2?

Hi!
We have developed framework and its working fine, but the problem is that we would need to invest now fair amount of time to prepare it to publish it and we are unable to assign "resources" (=me) to do so anytime soon (I have booked next 7 months already and it seems that I would be booked later for many more months ;/ )
So please do not rely on Honey 2 for your releases unless you are abel to exptrapolate the ideas form the WIP attached to the Honey 1 package.

you know, what you could do? you could update the honey2 WIP package and we could figure out how to make it work.no matter what it's a work in progress so people will not expect it to work.

My company would need to agree to allocate time to that, its not as simple as packaging the library, but this could be an option to squize this between other bigger tasks if some free days show up later this year or next. Current H2 library is deeply build into our new project as this speeds up development and would need to have good surgery to be clean and good as standalone. Time is always most expensive resource and deep connection allows us to save fair amount of it, but makes it less effective when module need to be removed/replaced or became standalone block. Due to the fact that modularity is not part of the requirements it was more resource-effective to do.
But recently some companies asked us directly for sources of H2, time required to prepare H2 for any publication was estimated to cost ~$9k to became valuable activity in our current "available time" (we already work 7 days a week ~10-15h), so there is a chance that this would be re-prioritized. So, we would have to wait to see what future would bring.

that would be awesome. Also note you could bump the price... personally I will pay double early for H2.

Honey sales is such small margin of our finances that price changes are neither problem nor solution, but thanks
